01 — Receipt photos stay on your device

When you scan a receipt, the image-to-text step runs entirely on your device. The photo itself is never uploaded to us or anyone else, and we never access your camera roll. Only the extracted text is processed, as described next.

02 — Receipt text & AI parsing

To turn a receipt into a clean transaction, the extracted text is sent over an encrypted connection to our backend, which uses Anthropic's Claude AI to identify the merchant, amount, date, and line items. That text is processed only to return your structured transaction — it is not used to train AI models and is never sold.

03 — Your transactions & budgets

Amounts, merchants, categories, budgets, accounts, and scheduled payments are stored locally on your device. If you choose to sign in and turn on cloud sync, this data is mirrored to our database — encrypted in transit and scoped to your account — so it appears across your devices, including between iOS and Android. Turn sync off and your data stays on your device only.

04 — Account & sign-in

Signing in is optional and exists only to sync your data. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we store the account identifier they provide, plus your email and name if shared, to secure your account. We never receive your Apple or Google password.

05 — Subscriptions

Receiply Pro is purchased through the App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status; it receives an app-specific user ID and your purchase status, never your payment details — those stay with Apple or Google.

06 — Product analytics

To understand which parts of Receiply are used and where people get stuck, the app sends anonymous usage events to Mixpanel, stored on Mixpanel's servers in the European Union. An event is a screen name or an action — "scan saved", "budget set", "export completed" — with your platform, app version, plan, and the optional onboarding answers you chose from fixed options. It is tied to a random device identifier, not to your name, email, or account. Receipt photos, receipt text, merchants, amounts, notes, and your email are never sent. IP-based location is switched off. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Anonymous usage data.

07 — Email updates (optional)

During setup you can leave an email address to receive occasional Receiply tips and product updates, and occasional news about other apps made by Codeora Ltd, the company behind Receiply. This is optional and you can leave it blank. If you give it, we store the address, the date, and the consent wording you agreed to on our own servers, and use it only for those emails — never sold, never shared with any other company, and never linked to your analytics data. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; you can also unsubscribe by writing to privacy@receiply.co. Deleting your account removes the address as well.

08 — Advertising measurement (optional)

We advertise Receiply on Facebook and Instagram. To learn which of those ads actually bring people to the app, Receiply can share a small signal with Meta — but only if you switch on Ad measurement in Settings. It is off unless you turn it on, and the app works exactly the same either way.

When it is on, Meta receives a device identifier, the fact that the app was opened, and whether a subscription started or renewed. It never receives your receipt photos, receipt text, amounts, merchants, notes, categories, budgets, or your email address. Meta may use these events to decide who else to show our ads to.

On iPhone and iPad, Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission must also be granted; if you decline it, nothing is shared no matter what the setting says. You can turn Ad measurement off at any time in Settings, and sharing stops immediately — though events already sent before you turned it off cannot be recalled.

09 — What we never do

We never store your receipt images on our servers, connect to your bank, show you ads, or sell or rent your data. Apart from the optional ad measurement described in section 08 — which is off unless you switch it on — we share nothing with advertisers. Neither that nor the anonymous product analytics in section 06 ever receives your receipts, amounts, merchants, or email. Receiply is a paid app — our incentives stay aligned with yours.

10 — Technical logs

Our backend keeps minimal operational logs — request IDs, endpoint names, latencies, and HTTP status codes — to keep the service running and secure. These never include receipt text, amounts, merchants, or anything that personally identifies you.

11 — Your rights & choices

You stay in control. You can export everything to CSV or PDF, erase all data on your device, or permanently delete your account, all synced data, and any email address you gave us from Settings → Delete account in the app. Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under GDPR and California under CCPA), you also have the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data — email privacy@receiply.co and we'll action it.

12 — Data retention

If you use sync, your data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, your synced data is permanently removed from our servers. Data kept only on your device is gone when you delete it or uninstall the app.

13 — International processing

Some processing — for example AI parsing via Anthropic, or subscription status via RevenueCat — may take place on servers in the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards for any such transfers of your information.

14 — Children

Receiply is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
